Wide beach and a lot of space to play: That's Agonda

Located just 6km by road north of better-known Palolem, Agonda is a childrens heaven in itself: Broad beach, neat and peaceful little village, huts to sleep in - and loads of other children to play with. It is one of the southmost beaches of Goa and one of the most beautiful as well. The perfect place to relax from a demanding journey through India. But beware: It's difficult to leave!

Orientation in Agonda is easy: Arriving by bus from you can either turn right or left on the beach: To the left is the "party side" of the beach, to the right the "childrens side". Everything is in easy walking distance.

Beachlife is the central activity in Agonda. The best beach for smaller children is to the north. There the water is shallow, and there is a huge and flat peninsula giving lots of open playground. Spotting dolphins is easy: just watch out for some minutes. If they are too far out, you can either ask a fisher boat to take you out, or rent a kayak on the beach to make the way out yourselves.

Have your natural swimming pool in Blue Lagoon

Walk to Blue Lagoon: If you follow the main street to the north, after a while you will find yourselves at the national highway again. There, you walk further north, crossing the bridge and then immediately turn left towards the beach. After only 15 minutes walk, you arrive at Blue Lagoon, an even quieter beach. It's very silent, and you can enjoy playing between the sea and the lagoon on a small stretch of sand.

Along the main street, most houses either offer rooms or got some huts placed on the beach. Depending on the standard, the huts start around 300 Rs (with attached bathroom) but some can go up to a whopping 6000 Rs a night.

Finding places to eat is very easy, the village is full of little restaurants, often connected to a small guest house. Many of the eating places have little gardens, some of them are even shady.
